    The mission of Scratching Post Cat Rescue, Inc is to care for as many homeless cat/kittens as possible and find them loving homes while helping to reduce the cat overpopulation in Miami County by spaying and neutering every cat/kitten brought into our shelter.

  • We are an independently operated cat rescue founded in 2014 with a mission of rescuing and finding homes for homeless and injured cats in our community. We have a wonderful team of volunteers that are making this dream possible. We are 501 c 3 not-for-profit status. All donations are tax deductible.

    Scratching Post Cat Rescue, Inc. was established and became a 501c3 nonprofit in 2014. From humble roots we have grown from rescuing a few dozen cats per year in a small storage building, to our current operation where we rescue, care for, and help find homes for 200-300 cats each year.

    Scratching Post Cat Rescue, Inc. has an all-volunteer staff which operates under the direction of an all-volunteer board of directors. Our funding comes from modest adoption fees, donations and grants. 100% of donated funds goes directly to the cats care, feeding, medical expenses and shelter.
